Protection, Boundaries, and the Eclipse
Hola dark and beautiful souls! It has been a while... intentionally! I have decided that blogs won't be out as often as before so that I can bring you better and more in depth content. And let's face it, fall is always crazy for me. New Basic Bitchcraft classes, still learning how the new Duchess St location is growing energetically, and of course my travels to come meet YOU via the Galaxy Psychic Shows, and of course the upcoming Witch Experience Halloween weekend un Saskatoon! Not to mention drying herbs and preserving this years bounty. There is indeed no rest for this wicked witch right now!
All this also reminds me of how important it is keep both my physical body, and especially my energetic body, in prime shape. Energetically this means protection. Especially when I am having long days travelling and serving you. But that brings me to this new blog...
Sadly, there’s a truth many witches won’t admit out loud: not all energy is welcome. Some folks wander into your space with curiosity, others with malice, and some meaning well, but not realizing they’re trespassing. Just because you can sense, feel, or peek into someone else’s life doesn’t mean you should. And with eclipse season looming—those wild cosmic resets where shadow devours light—your protection needs to be more than just a bubble of white light.
Why Protection Matters
Energetic boundaries are the unseen fences that protect your sovereignty. You wouldn’t leave your front door wide open and complain when strangers walked in, would you? Same principle here. Without strong energetic protection, you absorb other people’s moods, carry collective chaos, and leave yourself wide open to astral voyeurs who treat your energy like a playground.
Protection is not paranoia. It’s power. It’s you declaring: this temple is mine, and only those I invite may enter.
General Protection Practices
Let’s start with foundational protection...because a fortress is only as strong as its base.
1) Ward Your Space: Sprinkle salt thresholds, hang witch bells, plant protective herbs (rosemary, rue, wormwood). Old-world craft is still potent.
2)Aura Armor: Visualize your energy as a shield of obsidian or a cloak of mirrored fire. Customize it. Daily reinforcement is key.
3) Banishing & Cleansing: Smoke out stagnant energy with mugwort or juniper, wash thresholds with Florida Water, or use sound (bells, drums) to shake loose attachments.
4) Boundary Mantras: Simple phrases like “Not mine” or “Return to sender” redirect energy instantly.
Heavy-Duty Eclipse Protection
Let's face it, eclipses are raw magic...chaotic portals where shadows unmask what’s hidden. They are not “manifestation moons.” They are wild, surgical resets. Working without protection during this time is like skinny-dipping in shark-infested waters.
When eclipse season hits:
1) Layered Wards: Combine physical (nails, salt, talismans), energetic (mirrored wards, circles), and spiritual (ancestral guardians, deity protection). Don’t rely on one.
2) Lock Down Spirit Work: Only call in trusted guides or ancestors. Eclipse energy attracts tricksters and parasites.
3) Mirror & Flame Rituals: Place a mirror facing outward on your altar with a black candle in front. As it burns, declare: “All that comes uninvited sees only itself.” NOTE: black mirror work is for the extremely experienced only. It can may do far more damage than good in the hands of the newly initiated.
4) Sit the F*ck Down: Sometimes the strongest eclipse magic is restraint. Observe. Protect. Let the shadows pass before you act.
The Ethics of Peering Without Permission
Here’s the shadow nobody wants to own: astral snooping. Remote viewing. Psychic “check-ins.”
It doesn’t matter if you call it curiosity, concern, or divination. If you enter someone’s energy without consent, you are trespassing. Period.
Peering without permission = energetic violation.
Reading someone without consent = crossing spiritual sovereignty.
Digging into another’s life “for their own good” = playing god.
And let’s be blunt...eclipse season amplifies consequences. Energy you throw out ricochets back harder. If you spy, pry, or manipulate under an eclipse, the backlash isn’t just karmic...it’s immediate.
Countermeasures Against Peerers
So, what happens when you know someone’s peering? When that astral itch tells you eyes are on you? Here’s how to shut it down.
1) Mirror Shields
-Visualize your aura wrapped in mirrored obsidian or black glass.
-Set the intention: All that looks upon me sees only themselves.
-Physical talisman: carry a pocket mirror, consecrated for reflection and return.
2)Knot & Bind Work
-Take black cord and tie nine knots, saying at each: No eyes, no spies, no ties.
-Keep it hidden in a jar of salt. This binds unwanted attention without cursing.
3)Witch’s Eye Seal
-Draw an eye symbol on parchment. Strike it through with red ink or thread.
-Burn it with wormwood or dragon’s blood resin.
-Speak: Sight revoked. Permission denied.
4) Astral Guard Dogs
-Call upon spirit allies, ancestors, or animal guides to patrol your energy.
-Be specific in your request: “Block, bite, and banish all who come uninvited.”
5) Banishing Bath
-Add rue, hyssop, or eucalyptus to a salt bath.
-As you soak, chant: None may peer, none may pry, all uninvited are denied.
6) Naming & Shaming (Energetically)
-If you know the culprit, speak their name aloud in ritual space.
-State clearly: [Name], you have no right, no claim, no entry.
-Seal with iron (nail, key, horseshoe) at your threshold.
In Closing...
Eclipse season isn’t the time for fluffy spells or nosy readings. It’s the time for sovereignty, for guarding your temple, for drawing a hard line in the sand. Protect yourself. Respect others. And if someone thinks your life is their open book? Slam it shut.
Because in the end, a witch without boundaries is just a candle in the wind. And you, darling, were born to be the storm.
Love in balance,
Shari
