Intro to Herbology Part 1 & 2
Plants have been used for healing, nourishment, and magic for thousands of years. Long before modern medicine existed, herbal knowledge formed the foundation of both traditional healing and witchcraft practices. In this expanded double class, we explore how plants have been used historically, magically, and practically in everyday life.
Herbology is more than simply knowing what plants do. It’s about building a relationship with the natural world and understanding how herbs can support both physical wellness and magical intention.
We’ll begin with the fascinating history of plant magic and herbal medicine, including how witches historically protected their knowledge through coded language. Many of the mysterious ingredients mentioned in old spell texts were actually secret names for common plants used in remedies and magical brews.
From there we move into the practical side of herbology, including how to safely identify and ethically harvest plants.…
